Perfect Walkthrough

A guide to capturing your property so our AI can create magazine-worthy listings

Why It Matters

Your video is the raw material.

Poor Input
  • Shaky, fast panning through rooms
  • Close-ups of cabinet hinges and fixtures
  • Dark rooms, backlit windows
  • No narration or context
Great Input
  • Steady, slow doorway-to-doorway flow
  • Full room overviews from each entrance
  • Well-lit, natural daylight
  • Narrated tour with room names and features
The Golden Rules

Five principles for
a flawless walkthrough

Follow these and our AI will reward you with stunning, professional-quality results every time.

01

Start from the front door

Walk the natural path a buyer would take. Enter through the front, move through common areas, then bedrooms and baths.

02

Move slowly and steadily

Pause 2-3 seconds per room. No fast panning. Our AI needs sharp, stable frames to extract the best shots.

03

Capture the whole room

Stand in doorways. Show floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall. Our scoring engine rewards visible wall corners and floor.

04

Let there be light

Open every blind and curtain. Turn on all lights. Shoot during the day. Our AI penalizes dark and overexposed frames.

05

Narrate as you go

Describe features as you walk. "This is the primary bedroom with ensuite bath." Our transcription enriches the listing copy.

Room by Room

Every room has its
own best angle

Specific tips for capturing each type of space so our AI can identify and stage them perfectly.

Living Room

  • Capture from the entrance to show the full layout
  • Include fireplace, built-ins, and windows
  • Mention approximate dimensions in narration
  • Pan slowly to show natural light sources

Kitchen

  • Show all countertops and appliances clearly
  • Capture the island from multiple angles if present
  • Include pantry and breakfast nook in the sweep
  • Mention upgrades: granite, stainless, etc.

Bedrooms

  • Show closets open to reveal size and storage
  • Capture windows and natural light quality
  • Include ensuite entrance if applicable
  • Stand in doorway for the classic overview shot

Bathrooms

  • Show tilework, fixtures, and vanity clearly
  • Capture shower/tub from doorway angle
  • Turn on vanity lights for best illumination
  • Mention upgrades: heated floors, rain shower

Outdoor

  • Slow pan of the yard, deck, and patio areas
  • Capture any views and landscaping features
  • Show pool, hot tub, or outdoor kitchen if present
  • Mention lot size and orientation in narration

What to Avoid

Our AI actively penalizes
these patterns

The scoring engine detects and suppresses these anti-patterns. Avoid them and every frame will count.

Close-ups of fixtures
Cabinet hinges, door knobs, soap bottles. Our AI detects uniform texture filling the frame and applies a 75% score penalty.
Shaky handheld footage
Camera shake produces motion blur. Our extractor detects high optical flow and rejects frames with extreme motion.
Too dark or backlit
Dark rooms trigger the "enclosed space" penalty. Backlit windows create bimodal histograms that trigger overexposure detection.
Moving too fast
Rapid movement means fewer stable frames. The AI needs at least 2-3 seconds per room to find the perfect overview shot.
Inside cabinets and closets
Dark interiors with flash create the "enclosed space" signature: bright center, dark borders. The AI applies an 80% score penalty.
Blank walls and ceilings
Frames with very low edge density and uniform brightness are detected as blank surfaces and receive an 85% score penalty.

Our RoomOverviewScorer evaluates every candidate frame on 12 signals and 4 anti-pattern penalties. Positive signals (wall corners, perspective depth, floor visibility, vertical layering) identify whole-room photos. Penalty multipliers mathematically prevent close-ups, blank walls, enclosed spaces, and overexposed windows from making the cut. A FrameDeduplicator then groups similar frames using perceptual hashing so you get diverse rooms, not 10 angles of the same kitchen.

Pro Tips

Go from good
to extraordinary

Advanced techniques that will make your AI-generated listing indistinguishable from a professional photographer's work.

Use a gimbal

A smartphone gimbal eliminates shake entirely. Our motion detector will keep more frames, giving the AI more room overviews to choose from.

Shoot in 4K

Higher resolution means sharper extracted frames. 4K if your phone supports it, 1080p minimum. Avoid 720p or lower.

1-3 minute sweet spot

Too short and the AI misses rooms. Too long and you dilute with redundant footage. 1-3 minutes produces the best candidate-to-keeper ratio.

Include the address

Enter the property address before uploading. It organizes your assets in cloud storage by address for easy retrieval later.

Narrate the details

Mention square footage, upgrades, and unique features. Our transcription feeds directly into the listing copy, making it richer and more accurate.

Shoot during golden hour

Late afternoon light fills rooms with warm, even illumination. Avoid harsh midday sun that creates strong shadows and blown-out windows.
